Hathaway Brown's athletic program is historically modern. Founder Anne Hathaway Brown understood the benefits of movement for girls and carved out a gymnasium within the school, which was considered innovative for this era.
Today, Blazers (short for Trailblazers) athletics is a premier program offering 12 sports sanctioned by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA). The Blazer Covenant recognizes competitive athletics as an integral part of the HB experience, highlighting a commitment for Middle and Upper School girls to be leaders for their teammates, classmates, and the community. In 2022, a new vision for athletics was released focusing on what it means to be a student-athlete at Hathaway Brown.
