Classes in The Communal Garden series teach gardeners skills that can be used in community gardens or to support their community through gardening. They are low-cost in an effort to advance gardening skills in our communities. The series is a part of the Conservatory’s Growing to Green program, which supports and develops community gardens across Central Ohio. Learn the best practices for pruning and harvesting to keep your plants healthy and productive! This class will cover proper pruning techniques for various food producing plants to encourage growth and improve yields, as well as tips for how to identify when fruits and vegetables are ready to pick, proper harvesting techniques to avoid damaging plants, and tips for storing and preserving your harvest for longer enjoyment.
