Decorah Public Library invites local kids to participate in the 2025 Winter Break Reading Challenge: Books are a BLAST! Read your way through a series of fun challenges and earn prizes along the way. The challenge may be completed either digitally via DPL’s Beanstack site or on paper, which you can pick up at the front desk at DPL. Readers can choose between two challenges: one for readers who require assistance from an adult, and one for readers who read independently. Each challenge is comprised of 13 tasks, and prizes will be awarded for the number of tasks completed. If readers complete 8 of the tasks, they will receive a coupon for a free hot cocoa from Impact coffee. For assisted readers who complete all 13 tasks, the prize is your very own book to bring home. For independent readers, a private laser tag game at the library on January 4th. The Books are a BLAST Challenge runs December 23rd through January 3rd.
