Tuesday afternoons, July 8 - August 5, 1:00 - 4:00 pmYes, we all love the movie Ghost, but pottery is so much more than just the wheel! Jumpstart your summer with this inspiring handbuilding masterclass. This thoroughly enjoyable class will cover everything from sculpting, coil building, soft and hard slab construction, decorative and texturizing techniques, as well as effective glazing methods. This is a weekly, three-hour class that takes place Tuesday afternoons. Over the course of five 3-hour sessions we will explore some of the essential techniques of handbuilding, making unique functional pieces to take home. In the process, you will learn how to use slump and drape molds, a slab roller, and a clay extruder (a grown-up version of your favorite childhood playdoh toy!) for coil building. Projects include plates and bowls, a vase, a utensil caddy/wine cooler, and animal sculpture. (All pieces made will be food, oven, microwave and dishwasher safe) . Come make some art with us, all while enjoying the company of new friends. No experience necessary.
