The Clark County Historical Society invites the community to enjoy the Enchanted Forest, a festive display of uniquely decorated holiday trees, on view November 28 through December 20, 2025 in the 2nd Floor Hellmuth Rotating Gallery at the Heritage Center. The display is free and open during regular museum hours: Tuesday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays 9am-3pm. Visitors can explore the twinkling display any time during museum hours, or plan their trip around special Santa appearances. Visit with Santa on these dates: Friday, November 28 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. during Holiday in the City Saturdays, December 6, 13, and 20 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Thursdays, December 11 and 18 from 5–8 p.m. There will not be a photographer, visitors can take their own photos for free! Made possibly by The Greater Springfield Partnership. This year, one of our trees is decorated in a pet theme and we will be collecting donations to give to the His Hands Extended Sanctuary animal shelter. Wish list items include: Bleach, Dawn dish washing soap, paper towels, large disposable gloves, small paper plates, laundry detergent, and size 13 and 39 gallon hefty trash bags. Monetary donations will also be accepted! Donated items will be collected near the animal shelter tree at the beginning of the Enchanted Forest on the 2nd floor at the Heritage Center.
