Details:
Join us for the Historic Lewes Farmers Market on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 8 am to 12 pm, as we celebrate the Annual Tomato Festival in honor of National Farmers Market Week, running from August 3-9. This year marks the 19th anniversary of Mater Madness, where we’ll highlight the beloved tomato, featuring a variety of activities including the Guess the Number of Tomatoes in the Jar contest, the Biggest Tomato at Market Contest (judged at 9:30 am), and a special Mini Raffle.
Chef Bill Clifton from the Lewes Yacht Club will host a demo at 10 am, showcasing his recipe for Stuffed Tomato Greek Salad with Whipped Feta. Attendees can also enjoy an array of vendors offering fresh produce, meats, baked goods, and unique tomato-themed items such as Sundried Tomato Pesto Bread and Gazpacho. Customers wearing HLFM Tomato T-shirts will receive a free raffle ticket, and local produce donations are encouraged to support the Food Pantry Purchase Program.
Kids are invited to partake in hands-on activities at Kids Day on August 16, and every Saturday offers a Children's Storytime. The Market encourages walking or biking to the location, with ample parking options available. For more details, vendor lists, and weekly updates, visit www.HistoricLewesFarmersMarket.org or follow us on social media. Remember, pets are not allowed inside the Market for safety reasons. Join us as we celebrate local agriculture, community spirit, and our favorite fruit at the Annual Tomato Festival!
