The SouthEast Inspirational Choir (SEIC), formerly the SouthEast Inspirational Youth Choir, was founded in 1970 by gospel music pioneers Brenda Waters, Carl Preacher, and Shirley Joiner in Houston, Texas. The choir began as a youth musical and quickly became a permanent fixture in the gospel music scene, known for developing young talent and spreading the gospel through song. SEIC has a rich history of performances, recordings, and community outreach, including youth conferences and scholarships. The choir has been instrumental in launching the careers of numerous acclaimed gospel artists, most notably Yolanda Adams. SEIC continues to inspire audiences with its powerful sound and commitment to its legacy of musical excellence and spiritual ministry.
