Blevins Gap Nature Preserve is a 1,086-acre natural oasis located in South Huntsville, Alabama, managed by the Land Trust of North Alabama. This preserve offers a diverse landscape featuring woodlands, rocky inclines, and scenic vistas, making it a popular destination for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking a peaceful escape. The preserve is divided into two sections by Cecil Ashburn Drive, with the southern portion offering approximately 8 miles of woodland trails and spectacular valley views, while the northern section provides access to a rocky incline with wet-weather waterfalls and about 4.5 miles of trails. Blevins Gap Nature Preserve is also recognized for its historical significance, containing remnants of the "Spacewalk Trail" and being the site of the first land donation to a land trust in Alabama. The preserve supports a variety of flora and fauna and is actively used for passive, non-motorized recreation, including hiking and mountain biking.
