West Texas Symphony (formerly Midland-Odessa Symphony) was founded in 1962, as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Under the baton of Music Director & Conductor, Gary Lewis, WTS currently includes a symphony of over 70 professional musicians and is ranked by the League of American Orchestras as a metropolitan Orchestra. WTS proudly holds the distinction of being one of the largest professional performing arts organizations in West Texas. Unique, compared to similar orchestras throughout the United States, WTS is also home to an adult chorale, youth choir, and three resident instrumental ensembles - Lone Star Brass, Permian Basin String Quartet, and West Texas Winds. The mission of the West Texas Symphony is to enhance the quality of life in West Texas through professional music performances and music education.
