Join accomplished songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tommy Jackson for an engaging and comprehensive music experience. This program offers two exciting courses spanning 14 weeks: "Songwriting" from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, and "Music Recording" from 6:45 to 7:45 pm, each consisting of 12 sessions. In the songwriting course, you will explore the fundamentals of songwriting and focus on developing your lyrics and lyricism, with proficiency on an instrument strongly encouraged. The recording course will guide you through the music recording process, culminating in a completed song by the end of the session. Both classes are designed for adults, but younger students exhibiting strong interest may attend with parental consent. Note that songs may contain adult content.
Each class requires a notebook, a pen or pencil, and a recording device, with instrument proficiency recommended. Full refunds minus processing fees are available up to one week before class begins, and payment plans and scholarships are offered to ensure accessibility. Classes will be held at the Reeves Theater's alternate location, 125 West Depot Alley. For accessibility requests, questions, or to sponsor a student, please reach out to info@reevesmusic.org.
