Tonya Boyd - Cannon is a Mississippi-born, New Orleans-raised singer-songwriter and classically trained vocalist known for her dynamic blend of jazz, funk, gospel, rock, reggae, and neo-soul. She began her professional career as a background vocalist for Jean Knight, famed for the hit "Mr. Big Stuff," and later gained national recognition as a Top 20 finalist on Season 8 of NBC’s The Voice. Boyd-Cannon's 2016 album MUZIC Is Life received critical acclaim, landing in ten categories in the first round of Grammy consideration.
