Join us for an evening with acclaimed Somali–Swedish artist Salad Hilowle, in partnership with the American Swedish Institute for Sheeko Wadaag! Explore "Letters from Sweden" with a guided tour, followed by a film screening and intimate artist talk with Salad Hilowle, a Somali-born artist and filmmaker based in Stockholm. His work weaves together themes of memory, migration, and Black presence in Scandinavian archives—reclaiming space through art and storytelling. Born in Somalia in 1986, Hilowle moved to Sweden at age seven and later studied at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts, and Design, as well as the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. His work invites reflection on belonging, identity, and the traces we leave behind. June 19 | 4 PM Somali Museum Come share and create stories! #SheekoWadaag
