**Nature Art: 2025 Nature Needlers**
Participate in a year-long embroidery class held monthly at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center, where you'll learn beautiful techniques while exploring Missouri’s species of conservation concern. Create 15 quilt blocks that celebrate the beauty and uniqueness of these rare or declining species due to habitat loss or disease. Join us on the third Thursday of each month at either 3:00 pm or 6:00 pm, bringing your own embroidery supplies, while we provide patterns and materials. A similar virtual program is also available for those preferring to participate online.
**Native Plants: Curious by Nature**
Take a virtual hike through the Caney Mountain Conservation Area in Ozark County, presented by Deep Roots KC and the Missouri Department of Conservation. Discover the diverse habitats and history of this 7,899-acre area, including glade and woodland plant species and insights into wildlife management. Conclude the event with a live Q&A session with expert Susan Farrington, addressing your queries about native plants and land management.
**Conservation Families: Sustainable Holidays**
Continue the sustainability journey with a hands-on workshop focusing on eco-friendly holiday practices. Learn creative ways to wrap gifts using recycled materials and make your own pine needle tea and festive pine needle cookies. This second part of our Sustainable Holidays series encourages all ages to reduce waste during the season and share tips for creating environmentally conscious gifts. Registration is required for each participant to ensure sufficient supplies. (Note: Consuming pine needles is not safe for pregnant or nursing mothers.)
