This class combines holding passive restorative yoga poses with receiving reiki therapy from the teacher. The use of blankets, bolsters, and blocks support traditional restorative postures, which are held for 7-10 minutes, allowing full relaxation of the muscles. As the body and mind softens and participants find an ease and openness, the practitioner will offer reiki over the body’s energy centers. This will allow for the release of stagnant energy and restore a free flow of chi (or prana) in the body as the reiki energy is invited in. Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique that uses universal life-force energy and promotes relaxation, release of stress, and ease of physical discomfort. This class is designed to be deeply rejuvenating, restoring calm to the nervous system and balancing body, mind, and spirit. Class will end with a peaceful sound healing session of singing bowls and chimes.
