It’s FAIR TIME! we are thrilled to be participating in this years Alaska State Fair! Woot woot! These races are always a blast. We will be in the France Equestrian Center this week so please park in the orange lot, and plan for extra traffic as the fair is actively going. Also be aware of folks wandering round to visit with horses and watch the races. When you enter into the FEC grounds please stay to the backs of the arenas by the tree line to access arenas. We want to avoid horses being in the main fair walk ways. This Thursday is our 12th of 13 races at the Alaska State Fairgrounds, which means we are coming down to the end of the season, let’s try to rack up those last points in your division. Registration/warm ups begins at 5:45. Timed runs start at 6:30 sharp! Races cost $40 for a timed run on both the barrel pattern and pole bending pattern. Riders may practice before timed runs begin and depending on timing before pole bending timed runs. This year we are doing awards a little different, we will be implementing the traditional 4D structure per age group. Except littles division which will still receive 1-6 ribbons at the end of each race. Points will accumulate over the course of the series and belt buckles for Champion and Reserve Champion will be given at the end of the series. These events are designed to be a positive learning experience. We encourage new to the sport riders, green horses or folks who just want to come out and have fun. We just ask that you bring a positive attitude and cheer each other on! We will have the Chuck Wagon this week so come hungry and support these amazing 4-H youth! The burgers are sooo good. Of course there’s also a full fair of food but those 4-Hers sure make a good burger! We hope to see you all at our twelfth race of the season!
