With his unmistakable voice, rhinestone flair and signature blend of honky-tonk, rock and bluegrass, Dwight Yoakam has carved out a singular place in American music. Since breaking out with his 1986 debut Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc., Yoakam has sold over 26 million albums worldwide, earned 21 Grammy nominations (with multiple wins), and scored a string of chart-topping hits including “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere,” “Fast as You,” “Little Sister,” “Honky Tonk Man” and “Streets of Bakersfield,” his iconic duet with Buck Owens. A pioneer of the “California country” sound, Yoakam helped revive classic Bakersfield twang for a new generation, infusing it with a rock ‘n’ roll spirit all his own. His latest release, Brighter Days—his 21st studio album—showcases his enduring vocal power and songwriting range, with standout tracks like the high-energy “I Don’t Know How to Say Goodbye (Bang Bang Boom Boom).” His influence reaches far beyond country—landing him collaborations with artists from Post Malone to Chris Hillman, and appearances everywhere from Stagecoach to the Greek Theatre.
