Join STEP’s 4th Annual Pitch Competition! Witness Stanislaus County’s diverse entrepreneurs pitch for success! Stanislaus Equity Partners (STEP) is a community development corporation and non-profit that empowers our community through housing, small business, and affordable lending to promote the well-being of all residents. STEP created the Micro-Business Development Hub (MBDH) cohort in 2022 that focuses on serving Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) and minority entrepreneurs throughout the county. Since the inception, we’ve had 11 cohorts with over 150 participants. Participants learned the basics from business plans, business structures, licensing/permitting, marketing, sales, funding, and financials. The MBDH provides the space for micro-business entrepreneurs in Stanislaus County to come together to learn from business experts, share their entrepreneurship experiences with each other, and build community. Cohort members who complete the course and meet requirements are then invited to a pitch competition. During this competition, they can share their business ideas and/or needs for a chance to win funds to help their business.
