Join us for a festive celebration of nature and creativity at our holiday-themed events! Engage in "Nature Art: Cedar Wreath Building," where you can construct your own wreath using removed invasive eastern red cedar and round-leaved bittersweet to take home. All materials will be provided, and no registration is required for this outdoor activity, so dress appropriately for the weather.
Next, dive into the "Nature Art: Winter Birds Holiday Ornaments" program. Here, you’ll paint winter birds on small red cedar wood cookies while learning about the avian species that thrive in Missouri during the colder months. Please register in advance as supplies are limited.
Additionally, at "Nature Art: Holiday Swag and Mulled Cider," you can craft festive swag and enjoy warm mulled cider while discovering Missouri’s native creatures through a leisurely stroll in the nature center. Be sure to register early due to limited supplies.
Finally, for our youngest nature lovers, the "Little Acorns" program offers preschool and kindergarten children (ages 3-6) a fun introduction to the natural world with interactive stories and hands-on activities centered on wildlife and habitats. This session, themed “Nature’s Gifts,” focuses on the treasures nature offers throughout the year and includes creative crafts with parental involvement encouraged. For any special accommodations, please reach out to the instructor a week ahead of time. Come celebrate the holiday season with us!
