The Kennett Library & Resource Center is a regional public library dedicated to serving as a hub for lifelong learning, discovery, and community engagement. Its mission is to ignite imagination, enrich lives, and create community by connecting people with reading, information, and technology. The library offers a welcoming environment with free access to resources, fostering curiosity and the exploration of interests. Beyond traditional book lending, the expanded facility includes a 110-seat auditorium, flexible meeting rooms, quiet study spaces, maker spaces equipped with 3D printers, and laptop kiosks for public use. It also hosts programs focused on various literacies, including basic, information, health, financial, civic and social, environmental, and arts and culture literacy. The library actively collaborates with local organizations to offer services such as the Adult Literacy Program (ALP), which assists immigrants and native-born individuals with literacy and language skills, and partners with initiatives like Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to promote early childhood literacy. Serving eight municipalities in Southern Chester County, the Kennett Library is a private 501(c)3 organization that is a member of the Chester County Library System, funded by governmental sources and community contributions.
