Details:
Lillian Bossom Fendig was born in London, England. She studied art at the Hornsey School of Arts and Crafts in London. She met Ralph Fendig during World War II when she did volunteer work at an Army hospital to which he was assigned as a pharmacist. In 1948 she came to the United States, married Ralph and moved to Rensselaer. Her work as a painter brought her recognition as one of Indiana's finest watercolorists. The art gallery in Rensselaer's Carnegie Center is named after her and the Rensselaer summer children's theater organization is named after her and her husband Ralph.
