Edison Tesla Marshall, was born in Rensselaer on August 28, 1894. He was a prolific writer of both novels and short stories published in magazines. Three of his novels were converted to films starring the likes of Tyrone Power, Kirk Douglas, and Gene Tierney. Photos of his early years can be found at the Historical Society Museum.
