Students will be guided through every step — from rotary cutting and piecing to quilting and binding. This class will cover how to sew simple quilt blocks using squares and rectangles, understanding seam allowances and quilting “math,” and practicing pressing techniques for a quilt that lies beautifully flat. Using the Bernina sewing machines with walking foot, students will finish the class with a completed small quilt — perfect as a lap or baby quilt, wall hanging, or a thoughtful handmade gift. Whether you dream of making a large bed quilt or just want to explore the joy of quilting, this class will give you the essential foundation you need. Class Requirements Students should have basic familiarity with a sewing machine. Sample Class Format Day 1: Intro to quilting tools, laying out fabrics, cutting, pressing, and start sewing quilt blocks. Day 2: Sewing quilt blocks into rows, making a quilt "sandwich" and starting machine quilting. Day 3: Continue/finish quilting, prepare and apply binding to finish your quilt.
