Details:
Nationally-regarded saxophonist Rick Hirsch heads up this stellar State College-based quartet. They play jazz rooted in the sounds and spirits of Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Dave Brubeck, and Tito Puente, as well as those of modern masters. Tonight, they’ll be featuring special guest trumpeter Adam Hallacher. Adam is a fantastic young musician attending the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. He has been playing with Bob, Rick, and Kevin since he was a precocious student at State High. He is developing a compelling personal voice on trumpet. Bassist Bob Hart has toured and recorded with Kat Edmondson, Debbie Harry, Van Dyke Parks, and many others. On the local scene, he’s a member of the Zeropoint Big Band, Pure Cane Sugar, and is the musical director of Orquestra Mi Amor. The Reverend Dr. Kevin Lowe has been Central PA’s favorite all-around drummer for over years. He’s been a part of many great regional bands, including the Zeropoint Big Band, Orquestra mi Amor, Tyne & the Fastlyne, Erin Condo & the Hoofties, Lemont, Raven and the Wren, and many others. Rick Hirsch is an award-winning saxophonist, composer, arranger, and educator. He has performed with Tito Puente, Max Roach, Bob Mintzer, Jeff Coffin, the Temptations, and the Four Tops.
