The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Course is a comprehensive one-day training designed to educate food service workers on essential food safety practices. This course covers critical areas including foodborne microorganisms and allergens, personal hygiene, purchasing, receiving and storage, preparing, cooking and serving, as well as facilities management, cleaning/sanitation, and pest control. Upon completion, participants must pass a proctored exam with a score of 70 percent or higher to receive the ServSafe certification, which is the highest certification offered by ServSafe and satisfies Indiana's requirements for Certified Food Protection Managers. The certification remains valid for five years, and participants are required to present a photo ID with a signature, such as a driver’s license, when taking the exam.
