In this immersive session, you’ll learn to transfer vibrant pigments from flowers and leaves onto fabric or paper, crafting unique, natural prints. Ideal for all skill levels, Japanese Flower Pounding is an ancient art form dating back to the Neolithic period. This engaging class offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the interactive, hands-on experience of flower hammering using flowers to dye fibers as we explore the process of transferring their delicate pigments onto paper or fabric. While the class provides flowers, students are welcome to bring their own wildflowers to experiment. The nearby trail offers opportunities to collect additional plants. No experience needed!
