About the Instructor Michael Hepher is an interdisciplinary artist working as a printmaker, oil painter, writer and illustrator. His work seeks to explore an alternate line of sight from common views—showing a bold and playful version of our surroundings and other curious figures. Through the use of strong shapes, rich colour, and graphic line work, he parses internal and external landscapes into a unique iconography of community and nature. He strives to show the machinery of our natural systems in contemporary ways that reveal their underlying interconnectedness and showcase their invisible complexities in a way that makes them discoverable by a diverse set of viewers. Through his writing, Michael strives to pull the curtain back to showcase the life of a creative living in the East Kootenays, as well as encourage and support creatives on their journeys. Michael lives and works in Fernie, BC. Accessibility Note This workshop is planned to take place in our upstairs studios, which are accessed by steep stairs.
