This December, The National Museum of Transportation invites seniors to step into the wonder of the holiday season with Wonderful Wednesdays! On December 3, 10, and 17, visitors can experience the magic of Magical Model Trains, including the enchanting original Famous-Barr downtown window display from the 1950s and ’60s at a discounted special offer admission rate.
This iconic display, steeped in nostalgia, has become a beloved St. Louis family tradition — now beautifully restored and showcased alongside an expansive collection of model trains. Whether you’re reliving cherished childhood memories or starting a new family tradition, Wonderful Wednesdays promise timeless holiday joy.
Senior groups (ages 62) of 20 or more enjoy 5. 00 admission with reservations made at least two weeks in advance. We invite you to come visit the National Museum of Transportation! Full of photographic opportunities, historic artifacts, model trains and aircraft, the first F/A-18 Super Hornet, and a Virgin Hyperloop Pegasus pod from the Smithsonian, the Museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a. m. – 4 p. m. TNMOT is primarily an outdoor facility.
Our knowledgeable tour guides are available in the Earl C. Lindburg Automobile Center to answer your questions about our vintage vehicles. Public guided tours are available at 10 a. m. each open day, weather permitting, no reservation required. Much of our extensive 70-piece locomotive collection is covered under the Roberts Pavilion, plus more nearby, for safe exploring. A tour guide is on hand at the pavilion ready to reply to your inquiries.
