Details:
The lanterns are going on the move! For the first time ever, join the staff of Van Riper and the Michigan Iron Industry Museum for a Lantern-lit snowshoe trail around the grounds of the Iron Industry Museum. Let the lanterns guide your way through the snow-covered woods, and then be sure to warm up and take in the Museum, which will be staying open late (until 9 pm) for this one night only. The trail will be packed, but please bring your snowshoes; the park will have a limited supply available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Park staff will monitor conditions and cancel the event in the occurrence of inclement weather (severe storms/temperatures) . Any cancellation will be posted on the Van Riper State Park and the Michigan Iron Industry Museum Facebook page. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into Michigan state parks. To make a camping reservation, visit MIDNRReservations. com or call 1-800-447-2757. Please Note: Dates occasionally change and events may be canceled due to inclement weather and other reasons. Please call the park to confirm dates/times prior to your arrival. Subscribe to Inside Michigan's Great Outdoors newsletter
