Vermont's Milton Busker & The Grim Work, formed in 2014 after a serendipitous reunion at a farmer's market, embodies the spirit of local Americana music. Led by singer/songwriter Milton Busker, the band initially performed as a trio with mandolinist Jom Hammack and guitarist David Ball, later expanding to include bassist John Treybal and drummer Dave Simpson. Their unique sound, dubbed “suit-folk,” blends Appalachian roots with sophisticated lyrics—a gospel for the non-believers, hippie tunes for the pragmatic, and heartfelt love songs for the hopeful at heart.
