Join us for the Scherenschnitte Workshop on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Berks History Center, located at 940 Centre Ave., Reading, PA. Immerse yourself in the traditional Pennsylvania-German folk art of Scherenschnitte, which translates to "scissor cuts" in German. This intricate paper-cutting technique dates back to the 18th century and often features delicate designs inspired by floral motifs, animals, or everyday life scenes. Under the guidance of BHC Museum Curator Amber Vroman, participants will enjoy a hands-on experience learning to create their own beautifully framed cut paper masterpieces. The workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with prior experience in paper arts. Light refreshments will be provided. The cost is $30 for BHC Members and $40 for Non-Members, with off-street parking available in the BHC lot at 160 Spring Street, Reading, PA 19601.
