Tanning Small Fur Hides
This class is rescheduled from December 9 to take place on December 16. We are rescheduling this workshop because of pending bad weather. If you signed up, you will be contacted. There is currently a waiting list and so a second opportunity may arise. This session is full. If you want to submit your name using the registration form, you will be added to a waiting list.
This is a one day workshop, 10am to 5pm, instructed by Nate Johnson. Participants will be guided through the traditional way to process ermine pelts for use in future projects. The class will be held at Rail River folk School and is an inter-generational class. Materials and tools will be provided. There is no cost for this class, but registration is required as space is limited.
Nate Johnson is a professional craftsman and hide tanner living near Bemidji, MN. He has taught hide tanning, basketry, birch bark canoe building, snowshoe making, and other crafts around the midwest and in Canada.
