The Franciscan Sisters are opening their doors in January to welcome blood donors who want to go the extra mile to help save lives by donating blood. There continues to be a great need for blood donations, especially as snowbirds head south for the winter. New donors are always welcome, so bring a friend, roll up your sleeve and donate a unit of blood. Get out of the cold and enjoy a homemade cookie, too! The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at St. Francis Convent (St. Francis Hall), Little Falls on Tuesday, January 6, 1 – 7 p.m.; Wednesday, January 7, noon – 6 p.m.; and Thursday, January 8, 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Anyone who is at least 16 years of age (please bring a parental consent), weighs at least 110 pounds and is considered to be in good health may be eligible to donate blood. There is no upper age limit, and the time commitment is minimal. Please bring your photo identification.
