Get ready for a full day of bikes, gravel, friends, and good vibes at the Zimmerhanzel Express, happening Feb. 1st, 2026, starting in Smithville, Texas. This is the 8th annual running of the 60-mile gravel race, kicking off with a 9 a.m. mass start, complete with marked yellow-arrow routes, GXP files, aid stations from CrankBox, and SAG support if you run into mechanical trouble along the way. Once you cross the finish line, you can look forward to music, beer, and BBQ, plus chip-timed results and cash awards for the top three in each category—ranging from Men 39 & under to Women 50+.
If competition isn’t your vibe, you can still join the fun through the Zapalac Coaster routes. These rides let you start anytime between 7–9 a.m., with 30, 50, 60, and 100-mile options. Just check in before you roll out, follow the color-coded arrows, and make it back in time for the raffle, BBQ, and beer at 2 p.m..
Bring your helmet, bike, gear, and sense of adventure—this is a safe-riding, self-supported day on mixed terrain with plenty of community energy.
