Time to lace up your running shoes! The Cowboy YETI 2026, a multi-distance trail running event, is back on Jan. 17, 2026 at Bastrop State Park in Central Texas. It offers several distances: 7K, 20K, 40K, 60K, and a full 100K, plus a 20K ruck option. The course is scenic but rugged, with hilly dirt and rocky single-track trails that loop through the park and climb about 800 feet every 20K. Runners should be prepared with their own hydration system since no cups are provided. Pacers are allowed on the final loops of the 100K.
Event logistics include parking and shuttles for most distances, packet pickup the day before, and a schedule of staggered start times on race day. There are cutoffs for the longer distances. Participants receive race gear and awards based on distance, and the event features aid stations, marked trails, and photography. Organizers offer race credits if plans change, and there are discounts for active duty military and first responders. Park day pass is required.
