The Longest Night: Persephone’s Journey, Part I – Descent into Darkness Saturday, December 20, 2025 · 7:00 p. m. Community Hall, Third Street Center, Carbondale On the longest night of the year, we gather not to push the dark away, but to enter it together. Through the ancient myth of Persephone and Demeter, we’ll explore what it means to be taken into darkness, to grieve what has been lost, and to discover the unexpected power that can grow there. This immersive, participatory ritual will weave storytelling, live music, candlelight, and shared silence. Hosted by Two Rivers Unitarian Universalist (TRUU) , this event is open to all — all faiths, no faith, the curious and the questioning.
