The Southeast Ohio History Center Lyceum Speaker Series presents, Tom O’Grady, of the Southeast Ohio History Center and Instructor of Observational Astronomy at Ohio University, will be pinch hitting with the story of a lad born in Tuppers Plains who designed and built the biggest telescopes in the world enabling discoveries that changed the perception of man’s place in the universe. George Willis Ritchey, optician, engineer, photographer, astronomer, and telescope maker forever changed the way humans study the night sky. The Lycheon Luncheon Speaker Series is a monthly lunchtime opportunity to learn a bit about the rich local history of this region where Ohio began.
