The Southeast Ohio History Center Lyceum Speaker Series presents, Peter Cultice, who will be speaking about Joshua McSimpson from Big Bottom in Morgan County who wrote, “ The Emancipation Car: Being an Original Composition of Anti-Slavery Ballads, Composed Exclusively for the Underground Railroad,” and Charles Thomas from Zanesville, who inspired Branch Rickey to bring Jackie Robinson into Major League Baseball. The Lycheon Luncheon Speaker Series is a monthly lunchtime opportunity to learn a bit about the rich local history of this region where Ohio began.
