You're invited to our monthly Community Workday at the Dr. George Washington Carver Edible Park! Join us every 3rd Friday of the month from 2:30–5:00pm (weather permitting) at 30 George Washington Carver Avenue, Asheville. Parking: Stephens-Lee Recreation Center lot. Summer Hours: June, July, and August workdays meet from 9:00am–12:00pm. The knowledgeable Kelly Applegate of Bountiful Cities will lead most workdays. We provide all necessary tools, hand sanitizer, water, and snacks. Feel free to bring your own tools or gloves if you have favorites—more is always welcome! We also have extra gloves available. Masks are optional. Activities may include: • Mulching • Light tree & shrub pruning • Trash pickup • Invasive plant clearing • Seasonal planting (when available) • A guided tour of the edible park These community workdays are proudly presented in partnership with the East End/Valley Street Neighborhood Association and Bountiful Cities, with additional collaboration from the City of Asheville Sustainability Department.
