His many books have introduced millions to the universal truths underlying the world’s spiritual traditions. The award-winning documentary Awake: The Life of Yogananda was released in 2014 and continues to inspire audiences around the world. Yogananda’s legacy continues through the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF) , the organization he founded in 1920 to disseminate the teachings of Kriya Yoga. Through its global outreach, SRF aims to awaken a deeper understanding of the harmony underlying all true religions and to foster a greater expression of divine love—the love that unites all people in their oneness with God. Paramahansa Yogananda welcomed seekers of every faith. The benefits of the scientific methods of yoga he taught do not depend on belief, but arise from direct personal experience of the Divine.
